Man, I wish I was getting married again.
Not to another man, mind you, but because I might have done things differently. And by differently, I mean better, and by better, I mean that my wedding was perfect, but had I been me now, then, it would have been different. And better, maybe.
Does that make sense?
It's like, if I went back to high school now, with my 30 31-year-old knowledge and the good sense to pluck my eyebrows, I might have actually been asked out on a date by Doug Pearsoll.
And if I was to get married now, instead of last year, I probably would have draped some garlands in the trees for the wedding, that's all.
I had a great time with the Palouse Style Shoot: Summer Wedding 2011 and it was a great opportunity to play with my aesthetic and design beyond my own wedding last year. I'm really excited about what's next and where — like the discovery of tweezers — this will all take me. I'm charged for the next style shoot — or maybe even a real wedding or paid project.
The last of the photos were just sent to me by my old pal and talented collaborator,
Kathryn Stevens of Atlas and Elia Photography and I'm thrilled to share them with you.
I hope you like what you see as much as I do, and I'd appreciate any feedback.
And g-g-g-guess what? Tutorials on many of the decoration and stylings will be here soon!

Kathryn’s soft-focus photography lent itself so well to the beauty of the Perkins House property and what I was going for as far as style. It was a long, sweaty day and I feel a little dizzy thinking about how much work went into the project. But when I look at the pictures, the scene comes across so much like a fairy land, that I would give almost anything to be there again now.
But just hanging out...and maybe with a little rum in my rosemary lemonade.

That’s the sign of a successful project, I’d say.
